Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage has become what most people think of when they need a massage. This classic massage modality uses long strokes to increase circulation, relieve muscle tension, and is just a good way to relax your whole body. Highly recommended for your first massage.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is the use of water to relieve discomfort and promote physical well-being. Water can be used therapeutically in a number of ways. This includes the application of Hydrocollator pack(s) or Hot packs to warm up the muscles in conjunction with massage.

Hot Stone Massage

This massage technique uses smooth basalt stones as a tool or extension of the hand to provide a more penetrating heat to the muscles and can be a very effective therapy for chronic muscle tension or tension in general. I prefer to use less stone placement, using the stones in conjunction with Swedish massage.

Deep Tissue Massage

Using strokes across the grain of the muscles, Deep Tissue (D.T.) massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure is generally more intense. D.T. is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension by working within your pain tolerance. This may be slightly uncomfortable and cause some soreness before achieving the desired pain relief. Plenty of water and good nutrition will help speed up muscle recovery.
